Product Description
ReJuveness silicone sheeting is a FDA Class-1 medical device clinically proven and guaranteed to provide results with our non-invasive scar treatment. Topically applied ReJuveness silicone sheets has been shown to be effective for scar therapy in over 100 studies, regardless of the scar type, location, and age. An international panel of scientists and experts on scarring, reviewing all the studies and literature on available scar treatments, determined silicone sheeting to be a leading non-surgical evidence-based scar treatment for scar management and scar prevention. Works Better Than Adhesive Silicone Sheets That Require Tape After a Few Days of usage, Adhesive Clogs Pours in Silicone Sheeting Reducing Effectiveness and Is More Costly Over the Treatment Period.

These large medical grade 6 implantable grade elastomer sheets are the best value for large scar (tummy tucks) management. Because ReJuveness silicone sheeting is reusable and washable, only one sheet is required for the recommended 6 to 12 week treatment period for these long and curved surgical incisions. Rejuvenes is much less expensive over the treatment period compared to silicone gel sheeting products recommending 4 to 6 silicone sheets or silicone creams where many tubes will be required.

The 3″ width accommodates the curved arc of major tummy tuck procedures for easy application. The long lengths of 20″ or more of the ReJuveness tummy tuck pieces make for comfortable wearing for the recommended 8 – 48 hour treatment period. After using each day just wash with gentle soap and let dry for reapplication. May be comfortably worn under pressure garments and clothing without being noticeable. May also be worn while bathing or swimming.

Acne scarring is an acute problem especially for those who have experienced ugly flare ups of acne in the past. Nearly 80% of all people are affected by acne when they are in their teens and twenties. Though many are left unscathed by acne attacks, some may have life-long scars which can be a constant source of embarrassment. There are many treatment options for treating acne scars ranging from topical skin creams to surgical intervention. Of course the importance of preventive measures can not be undermined especially if you want to avoid a life-long problem.

Preventions is the best way to avoid any future problem with acne. To prevent acne breakouts, it is important to know what causes acne in the first place. One of the easiest ways to prevent acne is to wash your face daily with a mild antibacterial soap and avoid using heavy lotions and creams in areas which are prone to acne.

To hit the right treatment option for acne scars you must know the different classifications of acne scars. You will then know which treatment will suit which type of scars. For instance the ice pick acne scars are sharp and narrow where the skin appears to have been sliced or punctured. Acne scar resurfacing options can not work with such deep scars. Boxcar acne scars on the other hand are round or oval in shape and if they have not penetrated too deeply they can respond to some treatments. Conventional acne scar treatments can not work on rolling scars which are spots just beneath the surface of the skin. These need breaking up the fibrous tissue under the skin.

While there are plenty of acne scar treatment methods , more often, these methods are combined to get the desired results. Dermal fillers is a treatment option where some substances are injected into the scar areas to give the skin a smoother and even look. Fat, bovine and human collagens are some of the substances used in dermal fillers which can not offer a permanent solution and have to be repeated to maintain the results obtained. Deeper acne scars like ice pick and boxcar scars, are usually treated with punch excision. This is a method where the entire scar area is removed and the skin round it is sutured. This method also leaves a scar, which is less noticeable.

Punch excision is used for skin grafting as well. Here in place of suturing the skin together a skin graft is used. Skin from behind the ear is usually the chosen skin. If the color and texture of skin grafting is noticeable after the procedure is complete, it can be rectified using skin resurfacing. Punch elevation is the procedure used for deep boxcar acne scars. Here the scar is removed using a particular tool and then elevating the skin to the level of the normal skin layer and then suturing the skin together. Here there is less risk of color and texture mismatching. It also reduces the visible scars left from punch incision. The method used for breaking the fibrous bands caused under the skin by rolling scars is subcutaneous incision. One of the most popular choices for any skin conditioning or repairing is laser resurfacing. It works by burning the top layer of the skin which is replaced soon by new and healthy skin as it heals with time.

Though there are plenty of ways for treating acne scars prevention is the best way to avoid this problem of scar removal. In case you feel that you need treatment for your acne scars, you must first consult your physician, who will refer you to a dermatologist who will help you with your acne scar treatment. While you are going to choose the best method for your acne scar treatment you must also pay equal attention to its efficacy and the cost involved. Sometimes you might have to choose a combination of therapies like combining punch elevation with laser resurfacing.

These complementary methods could result in minimal scarring caused by surgical intervention. It is important to get professional advice from doctors who are adequately qualified with the right credential. Also important to note is that there are plenty of over the counter products which promise complete acne scar removal. Though these may reduce the ugliness of the scars temporarily, your doctor is the best judge to offer remedial actions when it comes to a permanent solution.

Dealing with an acne outbreak is painful and difficult enough, but when you have an acne scar to contend with following the outbreak, the pain is compounded. It’s no wonder that acne can cause depression and anxiety among sufferers. Just when an outbreak of acne seems to resolve itself, an individual may be left with scarring, causing continued pain and embarrassment. Luckily, there are measures that acne sufferers can take to significantly reduce the risk of developing an acne scar and minimize the long lasting impression of acne.

For those who suffer from acne, a resulting acne scar is actually quite common. However, the severity of the scar varies among sufferers; while some individuals who suffer from milder acne may have an acne scar that is hardly visible, others with more severe cases may exhibit far more noticeable scarring.

There are several different types of acne scars including ice pick scars, box car scars, rolling scars, and hypertrophic scars. Ice pick scars are among the most common, presenting as holes or deep indentations on the surface of the skin. Box car scars surface on the temple and cheeks and often resemble a chicken pox mark. Rolling scars resemble soft grooves along the surface of the skin. Hypertrophic scars are among the most visible type of acne scar presenting with thick scarring that changes the landscape of the skin. Often, hypertrophic scars are inflamed and give the face a reddish color. The appropriate course of treatment will depend on the individuality of the skin and the scarring that the patient is experiencing.

Before treatment can begin a doctor or dermatologist will recommend waiting for the acne outbreak to minimize or recede entirely. Chemical peels, laser resurfacing, punch excision, grafting, or collagen therapy are all options used to treat an acne scar. Normally it can take the body between four to twelve months to even out the tone of the skin and heal the appearance of an acne scar. But if the acne scar is stubborn and resists vanishing naturally, a dermatologist may recommend the next step in treatment.

During a chemical peel, a doctor or dermatologist will apply certain types of chemical products depending on the patient’s skin type; the chemical applied to the skin will allow the first layer of the skin – that which hosts the acne scar – to peel away. The patient is left with an unmarked layer of skin.

In a severe case of acne scarring, doctors may use beams of laser light to remove several layers of skin. Because the acne scar is this case may transcend the first layer of skin, the laser process is required to delve deeper than the chemical peel. If the acne scar is still unresolved, a dermatologist may choose to remove the skin containing the scar with a skin graft instrument. Collagen treatments can also be used to smooth out the appearance of an acne scar; a dermatologist will inject collagen directly into the skin to raise any depressions created through scarring.

It is always very important to take into account the patient’s particular skin type and severity of the acne scar before deciding the most beneficial treatment plan with a doctor or dermatologist. Decreasing the habits that could perpetuate an acne outbreak along with an appropriate acne medication and healthy daily skin care regimen can lead to beautiful skin and eliminate the risks of an acne scar.

It is still unknown how acne forms into the different acne types. What science can tell us right now is that when the sebaceous glands produce excess sebum (oil), it can mix with the dead skin cells and dirt in the skin. This mixture becomes a breeding ground for bacteria. The dead skin cells, dirt and sebum clog up the skin pores. They the manifest themselves as reddish blemish on the skin surface, and this is what we know as acne.

Acne that is close to skin surface are what we know as whiteheads and blackhead, non-inflammatory type of acne. Acne that is painful to the touch and swell up, on the other hand, is the inflammatory type of acne. These are the pimples or zits and they can leave scars since they go beyond the top layer of the skin.

Acne scars vary from person to person. This is because people have different facial topology. Thus, one person with acne scars can have just shallow imperfections (acne scars that are not so deep), another person may have “ice pick” scars (acne scars that look like chickenpox scars), and another person may have deep acne scars.

To date, there is still not a lot of information and research done on acne scars and how they form. Thus, acne scar treatments are not surprisingly limited. Acne scars and their treatment then needs to be addressed on a case-by-case basis. There is not a single acne scar treatment that works for everyone. If you have acne scars, you’ll need to talk to your dermatologist or a cosmetic surgeon to find out what procedure or treatment is most appropriate for you.

A number of treatments for removing acne scar are available, and the treatment type depends on the type of acne scarring. Again, it’s best to talk to your dermatologist and find out which acne scar removal treatment (or even a combination of treatments) is the best for you.

Below are a few of the acne scar removal treatments available today:

* Dermabrasion

With this treatment, the skin is numbed or frozen. A machine removes damaged skin to make way for new skin growth. Dermabrasion is not the same as microdermabrasion. The latter wont remove acne scars.

* Laser resurfacing

This acne scar removal treatment uses laser to remove old skin that has been damaged to allow new skin to grow. Laser resurfacing is becoming very popular, and is promising to surpass dermabrasion as the treatment of choice when it comes to acne scar removal.

* Chemical peel

Chemical peeling is an acne scar removal method wherein the top layer of the skin is removed by applying acid or chemical. The procedure allows for a new smoother skin layer to grow.

* Punch

This acne scar removal method is recommended for people who have deep, pitted scars. The procedure involves removing the scar and the wound closed so that it can heal. This method has three techniques: punch excision, punch replacement and punch elevation.

* Subcision

This acne scar removal method involves detaching the acne scar from the deeper tissues. This lets a pool of blood to form under the acne scar and clot. The blood basically helps in the formation of connective tissues under the scar so that the acne scar area comes up level with the skin surface.

* Augmentation

In this acne scar removal method, the acne scar is injected with a material, either collagen or one’s own fat, with the goal of bringing the scarred skin to surface level.

Acne is most common skin conditions . It is also called common acne. Acne afflicting 40 to 50 million Americans. Nearly 80 percent of people aged 11 to 30 years have acne, most often on the face, chest and back. However, acne is not restricted to any age group; adults in their 20s, 30s and even into their 40s can get acne. “Old-looking” skin can sometimes have less to do with aging than with a defect that makes the skin look prematurely old. One such skin problem—and a fairly common one—is acne scars. Healed acne does leave scars in some people, however, and it is not easy to predict who will have scars after acne and who will not. Most cases of acne responds to treatment and clears up without leaving scars.Severe, inflamed, cystic acne always leaves scars after healing, but in some people even superficially inflamed acne can result in scarring. it can leave a red or hyperpigmented mark on the Skin.White blood cells and inflammatory molecules may remain at the site of an active acne lesion for days or even weeks. In people who are susceptible to scarring, the result may be an acne scar

Acne scars starts with causes of scarring, prevention of scarring, types of scars, and treatments for scars. Scars may also contribute to an appearance of age as the skin loses its elasticity over the years.Acne scars two types of tissue response to the inflammation of acne: (1) increased tissue formation, and (2) loss of tissue. Most serious scarring is caused by the more severe forms of acne, with nodules more likely to leave permanent scars than other types of acne. There are some topical skin care products and medications that can improve mild scarring, but most acne scars are treated with a combination of surgical procedures and skin resurfacing. The redness or hyperpigmentation is seen as the skin goes through its healing and remodeling process, which takes approximately 6-12 months. If no more acne lesions develop in that area, the skin can heal normally. Any color change or skin defect still present after 1 year is considered to be a permanent defect or scar.
